Recycling for Schools There are 19 schools in the Valley and surrounding area, within the catchment area of Creation Recycling Ltd. Each one could play a significant role in reducing waste for the Borough – and in educating children about sustainability and waste management for the future benefit of Rotherham. Schools can lead by example – in the way they deal with their own waste and by taking a pro-active role in raising awareness about the 3 R’s (reduce, re-use and recycle) with children.
Depending on the size of a school, it can spend between £300 and £1000 per year on disposing of waste. Through reducing, re-using and recycling, this cost can be halved – saving valuable resources on disposal costs. Getting started is easy. Even big schools can take small steps to help reduce the amount of waste. |
