The Future In the near future, European Directives will force the UK to take a very different approach to waste management. Some European countries such as Switzerland and Austria recycle over 50 per cent of their waste and the new directives aim to bring the UK into line with these. |

We are moving in the right direction, but we need to do more - and Creation Recycling has a vital role to play. Creation Recycling Ltd is committed to achieving commercial sustainability to coincide with the end of its funded stage, so plans are in place to increase the bulk of collected recycling waste and to broaden our areas of activities into, as yet, untapped landfill materials. We currently collect glass, cans and textiles from 12,000 households within the Valley area, Eastwood, East Dene, Springwell Gardens, Dalton, Thrybergh, Hooton Roberts and parts of Clifton, These collections began in September 2004 and continue to be successful. Creation is working with Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) with a view to extending the services it currently provides which involves working in partnership with a large local glass manufacturer to provide culleted glass, expand its business collection services to a wider area, a long term contract with RMBC, working with Recycling Action Yorkshire on projects such as marketing campaigns for businesses, particularly in recycling UPV-c and the provision of even more jobs from within the area of benefit.
